A Baltimore City Public Schools teacher who was reported missing was taken into custody over the weekend in Pennsylvania for a felony involving a minor, the school administration revealed to FOX45 News on Thursday.
After being arrested, Rogie Lagaspi, a seventh-grade science teacher at Hamilton Elementary/Middle School, was placed on administrative leave.
Lagaspi began working at Hamilton Elementary/Middle School on July 1, 2026, according to a Baltimore City Public Schools representative.
He has been working for the school system since 2008.
According to school authorities, there have been no complaints filed against Lagaspi with the BCPS Fair Practices/Office of Legal Counsel.
In a message to the school community on Tuesday, Principal Natasha Pouncey stated that she is unable to provide any information due to “employee privacy laws and court proceedings.”
According to Pouncey, the school district presently has no information on whether Lagaspi’s alleged offense involves any current or former City Schools kids.”Our primary focus remains on supporting our students and ensuring a consistent learning environment,” Pouncey said.
