Two Washington children considered “critically missing” by authorities since 2023 have been found across the country in Virginia.
According to the US Marshals Service, the children were initially reported missing in Redmond, Washington, in December 2023.
The Marshals were approached in August 2026 and asked to help both the Redmond Police Department and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
It was later discovered that the children were in the Washington, D.C. region.
“It was determined that the children’s mother had taken them after losing custody and concealed their names in an attempt to evade law enforcement,” the Marshals Service reported.
On September 16, the children were securely found in Virginia and returned to their father’s custody.
Authorities have not disclosed whether any charges have been filed in connection with the investigation.
