Meigs 2020 property tax rates are in
POMEROY, Ohio – According to Meigs County Treasurer Peggy Yost, property tax rates for the 2020 taxes are in.
The due date for the first half tax has been set for April 9, 2021. Yost stated bills will be mailed out in early March. Anyone that would like to view their taxes prior to receiving their bill, should visit the Auditors website meigscountyauditor.org. Property owners may search by parcel number, name, or address. Yost stated, if the property owner billing address needs to be changed please use this website to print the address change form and mail it in. She addded, “We are no longer able to change a billing address over the phone.”
Especially with the pandemic, the Meigs County Treasurer’s Office has been utilizing the website more and making other options available to pay taxes. According to Yost, “With the current COVID-19 restrictions we have several ways to pay your taxes if you are unable to pay in person. Currently, our office can only hold two individuals at one time. If you want to pay in person you may have a longer wait time to enter our office. You must enter the courthouse through the elevator entrance only. You will have to be screened by security before entering. Please note that to pay in any form you must have a parcel number.”
If paying by mail is the option you want to utilize, send the payment to: Meigs County Treasurer 100 E. Second St. RM 202 Pomeroy, Ohio 45769.
Property owners can pay through the website online with a credit card, debit card or check. This link will also give you any phone numbers you may need to pay over the phone with a person meigscountyauditor.org
Yost noted there is also a secure drop box located on the wall next to the old street entrance door for the Treasurer’s office, this box is checked frequently.
