Martha Jane Karr Rowe, 91
Martha Jane Karr Rowe, 91, of Birmingham, Alabama, died Saturday June 19, 2021. She was born May 28, 1930, in Pomeroy, Ohio to parents Le Clair and Marguerite Karr.
She graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1948. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, traveling, singing in the church choir, going to Baron’s baseball games, volunteering at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Vestavia Library bookstore. She was a member of the Shades Valley Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time helping with the newsletter, the choir and making quilts with the Happy Quilters. She retired from Vulcan Material Company after 20 years of service.
Her funeral service will be Friday June 25, 2021, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Visitation will be Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery in Pomeroy.
She is preceded in death by her parents Le Clair and Marguerite Karr, brothers Richard Karr and Tom Reuter.
She is survived by her children: sons, Mickey Williams and wife Amy, Mack Williams, both of Pomeroy; daughter, Shari Williams of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Lee Williams and wife Marsha of Belpre, Ohio, Brandon Williams and wife Michelle of Gallipolis, Ohio; great grandchildren, Skye Williams, Breanna Vance, Christopher Vance all of Belpre, Ohio, Sutton Williams and Levi Williams of Gallipolis, Ohio; sister-in-law Janice Reuter of Pomeroy; Rhonda Malone husband Deslar, children Ryan Davis, Rachell Davis, Terry Reuter wife Mandy, children Reese Reuter, Lane Reuter and Carson Reuter all of Pomeroy, OH.
A memorial service will held at Shades Valley Lutheran Church on August 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Birmingham with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Shades Valley Lutheran Church, 720 Shades Creek Parkway, Homewood, Alabama 35209 for the choir or the Happy Quilters; or to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 231 E 2nd Street, Pomeroy, OH 45769 for the church.
