Pomeroy Man Involved in Gallia Crash

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio – The Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one vehicle crash involving a Pomeroy man on Aug. 6, 2021.

According to a statement from the Gallipolis Post OSP, George R. Muth, 74, of Pomeroy was traveling northbound on State Route 7. Muth was driving a 1979 Peterbuilt 352 when he reportedly drove off the left side of the roadway striking a guardrail. The vehicle continued off the left side of the roadway striking a utility pole, building, and a parked car.

The crash occurred at 7:50 p.m. The roadway was closed as a result of the crash for some time, but has since been reopened.

According to the OSP, Muth had incapacitating injuries. He was taken by medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Muth was wearing a seat belt.
