The Church Mouse: What Other Think

Couch Potato…
What is a couch Potato or as a friend of mine says “a sofa loafer”.
Here is what I found in the dictionary.
   1. A person who spends much time sitting or lying down, usually watching TV.      
   2. An idle person who spends much of his/her time on a sofa.

So if we take the definition literally then to some extent all we might be couch potatoes. Now I am not trying to make you mad or hurt you feelings and I am also in no way judging you.

I can remember back when my son was in Kindergarten. The teachers asked each student what their parents did during the day.  Several of his classmate replied that their moms worked in various places. His mom did not work outside the home at that time. However, my son replied when it came his turn.
“Well, my mom gets up early so she can lay on the couch all day and watch TV. Plus she eats candy bars!”  So I guess he really thought I was a couch potato!
I was very upset because I thought that he was making me look lazy! 

I guess if we are  truthful about it, we all worried what other people might think about us, way to much. 
I used to think what other people thought of me was very important.  Then I was told by a very close friend that. “What others think about me is not any of my business!”

What is really important is what God thinks of me!

I should be wondering, “What does God think of me when I am short tempered with others or when I am angry or just plain mean?”

We humans like to think that we can hide things from God.  We are, just really,  fooling ourselves. We can hide things from people but not God. He is omniscient! (I know a ten dollar word), which means all knowing. So are you trying to hide something from God?
God is all seeing, hearing and knowing. Therefore he knows us even better than we know ourselves.  

Prayer– “Father in heaven thank you for loving us. We know Father that we are not worthy of your love. Push us Father to be what you want us to be.  Help us to not worry about what the world thinks of us. Guide us to do your will and not ours. Help us to not judge others.  Help us to be kind and loving to each person we meet. Amen.”
