Governor Signs Executive Order to Assist Foodbanks
COLUMBUS – This week Governor John R. Kasich signed executive order 2014-01K to assist those in need of food assistance.
The executive order authorized the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to expend up to $2,329,895 to assist the Ohio Association of Foodbanks to increase the amount of food for at-risk children and families during the summer months.
Additional funds under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program will be used to support programs and organizations that promote the mission of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and fulfill one of the four purposes of the TANF program.
