The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 52-year-old Lakeland man with a significant criminal history, including two previous methamphetamine trafficking convictions, on Wednesday afternoon.

Rahja David Davis was arrested on a felony warrant for violating his pretrial release. The original accusation resulted from a previous arrest for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

According to a report from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were advised of the warrant and responded to a residence on Country Woods Drive in Lakeland at around 3:13 p.m. They arrived and saw Davis in the front yard. He was detained quickly and without incident.

Davis’ criminal record includes a slew of charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, and cannabis, as well as simple battery, resisting officer without violence (ROWOV), disorderly conduct, and driving with a suspended or revoked license (DWLSR).

He has been sentenced to Florida State Prison twice for trafficking methamphetamine, with his most recent release in August 2023.
