A 20-year-old woman has been apprehended on a manslaughter charge following a crash that killed a motorcyclist last month, according to El Paso police.

Police said Marissa Arlene Dominguez was detained for manslaughter in connection with the August 31 incident that killed 48-year-old Alejandro Rodriguez.

Dominguez was detained on Thursday, September 11, and put into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $100,000 bond.

On August 31, at about 2:30 a.m., police responded to an incident on Interstate 10 West near Don Haskins to investigate a tragic collision between a motorbike and a vehicle.

The preliminary investigation found that Rodriguez was traveling west on the interstate when he suffered a rear-end collision, which resulted in his expulsion from his motorcycle.

Rodriguez died at the site.

The Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit continued to investigate the crash, which led to this arrest.
