A suspect was detained following two separate stabbings in north Columbus early Friday, according to police.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, police responded to a stabbing report just after midnight in the 6900 block of Lancaster Lane. They discovered a victim inside a vehicle with many stab wounds. The victim was sent to a local hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.

Less than three hours later, officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Crossgate Place for another stabbing. Officers stated the victim in that incident was also taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where their status was listed as stable.

The perpetrator fled both scenes but was eventually apprehended by authorities on Cleveland Avenue. Authorities suspect a connection between the two stabbings.
