A staff member from The Villages Entertainment Department has been arrested on battery charges.
Brian Joseph Mullany, 43, of Ocala, was arrested Thursday night and lodged into the Sumter County Detention Center. The bond has been set at $2,000. The arrest report has not been made public; however, it was a Wildwood Police Department arrest.
Mullany has played an important role in The Villages’ high-profile events recently, most notably the Christmas tree lighting ceremonies. Mullany formerly worked for the City of Inverness’ Special Events Department before joining The Villages Entertainment Department.
