A domestic violence incident in the Town of Grafton on Friday afternoon left a woman with serious injuries and a male suspect in custody, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 3:50 p.m. on October 24, 2025, to a residence in the 2000 block of Lake Shore Road after reports of an active domestic disturbance. Grafton Police Officers arrived first and heard a woman calling for help. As officers approached, a man fired a weapon, striking the woman. The suspect, identified only as a 53-year-old man, was taken into custody without further confrontation.
The 48-year-old victim was initially transported to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton and later airlifted by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
No officers or deputies were hurt. Authorities emphasized the incident was isolated to the household and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are expected once the case review is complete.
The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation for assistance from the Grafton, Mequon, and Cedarburg Police Departments, the Ozaukee Central Fire Department, Ozaukee County Emergency Management, and Flight for Life.
