MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation has been working on several projects in the county and has several more that coming up shortly.

Upcoming Projects

Beginning on July 27, 2018 the roadway .3 miles west of US 33 will be restricted to traffic for a culvert replacement. Single lane traffic will be moving through with traffic signals in place and an 11 foot width restriction. Work is estimated to be completed by Aug. 31, 2018.

On July 30, 2018 work will begin on State Route 681 .10 miles east of Township Road 618 (Fredrick) and end 3.0 miles east of junction State Route 684 for a culvert replacement. The road will be completely closed to traffic with the estimated project completition date being Aug. 10, 2018.

Starting Aug. 6, 2018 .02 miles east of County Road 40 and ending at Burlingam there will be a full road closure for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 17, 2018.

Current Projects

Work continues on Bowmans Run Road at the junction of County Road 34 Pinegrove Road for bridge replacement. Traffic is estimated to be closed there until projected project completion of Aug. 31, 2018. The work began on May 29, 2018.

Two miles south of Racine the road remains closed at the junction of Township Road 99 Blind Hollow Road on State Route 124 due to a massive rockslide. Work began April 26, 2018 and is not expected to be completed until Dec. 31, 2018.

Work also continues at the junction of State Route 681 ending at the junction of County Road 692 for a culvert replacement which began June 18, 2018. One lane is open to traffic with traffic signals in place.
