Fatal Shooting in Pomeroy, Law Enforcement Seeking Suspect

POMEROY, Ohio – Meigs County authorities are seeking a suspect allegedly involved in a homicide in Pomeroy late Wednesday afternoon.

According to Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood, at 5:30 p.m. a call came in concerning a possible shooting victim on Osborne Street in Pomeroy. The victim was transported by private vehicle to Holzer ER Pomeroy, however, the victim passed away at the ER. The victim’s name is not being released at this time, pending notification of the family.

The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Tammy Neace, 45, of Pomeroy in connection with shooting resulting in the death of the victim. Neace is a described as a white female, 5’5”, 105 lbs., brown hair, green eyes. She is believed to be driving a white four door 2001 Hyundai Assent with the license plate FIX8138.

Anyone seeing this vehicle or Neace should not approach as she is to be considered armed and dangerous according to Sheriff Wood. Contact the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office or local authorities with any information. Law enforcement nationwide have been alerted to be on the lookout for the suspect. Sheriff Wood stated they do not believe Neace to still be in the area. The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office can be contacted at 740-992-3371.

Sheriff Wood said the Ohio State Highway Patrol along with the Middleport Police Department have assisted with the case. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (Ohio BCI) has been called in to assist with processing forensic evidence. Meigs County Prosecutor James Stanley has also been involved.
