Two vehicle crash results in one fatality

POMEROY, Ohio – A two vehicle collision has resulted in the death of one of the drivers.

According to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on November 1, 2019 at 1:20 p.m. on State Route 7 at Country Road 24 (Union Avenue). According to OSHP, Wesley D. Manley, 81, of Pomeroy, was traveling in a 2004 Ford Ranger was westbound on Union Avenue and failed to yield from a stop sign. The Ford Ranger was then struck by a 2018 Freightliner Truck driven by James L. Ridenour, 84, of Middleport. Ridenour was traveling northbound on State Route 7. Manley was “transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on November 4,” according to a statement from the OSHP.

Both Ridenour and Manley were wearing their seat belts.
