Meigs Trade Days, Farmers’ Market, Yard Sales all set for the Weekend

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – After months of no events in Meigs County due to COVID-19 and Ohio’s response to it, the county is getting back to the swing of things.

As with every Saturday through October, the Meigs County Farmers’ Market will be on the Pomeroy Levee. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Meigs County Farmers’ Market features farmers, artisans, and producers while also providing family friendly events. This week’s project for Kid Korner is an ocean in a bottle. For the latest information, go to the Meigs County Farmers’ Market Facebook page.

Meigs Trade Days returns for the first weekend in 2020 at the Meigs County Fairgrounds. The monthly farmers’ and flea market is open on June 6-7 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. From crafts to agriculture to those flea market finds, Meigs Trade Days offers a bit of everything for everyone. Vendors will be inside and outside at the fairgrounds. For more information, go to the Meigs Trade Days Facebook page.

A staple of summer are yard sales. The Racine Area Community Organization (RACO) will have the last day of their yard sale on June 6 for local scholarships. The yard sale has been going since June 4 at Star Mill Park in Racine. The yard sale runs June 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on June 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The 143 Yard Sale will be June 6. The big event features yard sales all along State Route 143 in Meigs County. This is the eleventh year for the event. Columbia Township Fire Department also participates and will have vendor spots at the station with times going from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will look a little different at the fire station. All firefighters will be wearing masks. Those selling at the yard sale are supposed to as well. There will be specific “traffic” flow, look for signs and arrows. At the fire station, the food service is planned for outside with stations for ordering, pick up, etc. This will be out back, behind the actual station, just follow the signs. The Columbia Fire Department Station facilities will be open for bathrooms but they will not have tables to sit down inside. The event is one of two major fundraisers for the fire department throughout the year. Other homes along State Route 143 will have yard sales as well and those hours will vary from site to site.

Other yard sales will be happening throughout the county as well.
