2021 Meigs County Dog Tags Now Available
POMEROY, Ohio – According to Meigs County Mary Byer-Hill, it is once again time to renew Meigs County dog tags. The tags are now available to purchase through January 31, 2021 at the price of $12 per dog.
The tags can be purchased from the Meigs County Auditor’s website meigscountyauditor.org
COVID-19 precautions are in place at the Meigs County Courthouse. The Meigs County Auditor’s Office asks that for the safety of the public and the employees, tags be purchased by mail if possible. For more information, call the Auditor’s Office at 740-992-2698.
Dog tags will still be available after January 31, but the fee is increased. Instead of being $12 for one dog, the fee raises to $24 for a one year license. Three year licenses are also currently available for $36, but after January 31 it raises to $48. Permanent licenses are available for $120, after January 31 it raises to $132.
The Meigs County Canine Rescue and Adoption Center is funded through the purchase of dog tags. Beside being the law to have dogs licensed, the fee for the licenses enables the Center to operate.
