Winter Storm Warning for Meigs County and Surrounding Areas

POMEROY, Ohio – A winter storm warning remains in effect for Meigs County and the surrounding areas until 1 p.m. Christmas Day according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches are expected. Isolated higher amounts are possible.

It’s important that residents get accumulated snow off their roof as soon as the storm has passed to help prevent damage. Should any damage occur, they can contact roofers Roanoke to help fix the issues.

Residents are also encouraged to make sure they have 2-3 days worth of food stocked up in their house. This will ensure they have food they can eat should the storm turn out to be worse than predicted.

The winter storm warning covers portions of southeast Ohio, northeast Kentucky and northern and western West Virginia.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the local commute and holiday travel.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
