Meigs, surrounding areas under winter storm warning

RACINE, Ohio – Meigs County and the surrounding areas are under a Winter Storm Warning effective 1 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 to 10 a.m. Tueday, Feb. 16.

During that time, heavy mixed precipitation is expected. According to the National Weather Service, total snow accumulations for the county of 4 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch are expected.

Portions of southeast Ohio and northeast Kentucky are expected to be effected by the winter storm.

Travel could be very difficult if not impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. North wind around 6 mph. Overnight a chance of snow and freezing rain before 4 am, then snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 23. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Little or no snow accumulations expected.

Monday, Feb. 15

Snow and freezing rain. High near 30. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a .1 of an inch possible. new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Overnight snow before 3 am, then snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain. Low around 21. North wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation 100%.

Tuesday, Feb. 16
High 28 – Low 10
Snow likely, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 7 am, then a chance of snow between 7 am and 3 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Overnight mostly cloudy, with a low around 10.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Overnight snow, mainly after 8 pm. Low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
