Guy Daniel Hysell, 87, of Pomeroy
Guy Daniel Hysell, 87, of Hysell Run Road, Pomeroy passed away Thursday, February 19, 2021 at Darst Adult Group Home. He was born on July 3, 1933 in Salisbury Township, Ohio, son of the late Denver and Frances Hysell.
He was retired from the Ohio Union Operating Engineers, and attended Bradford Church of Christ. Throughout Guy’s life his hobbies included racing stock cars, attending the React CB radio team, constructing and spending time with family members.
He was a loving father to daughter Linda and Charles Blake of Mason, W.Va; and son Donald Hysell of Pomeroy; and daughter Donna Kay and Charles Ellis of Vinton, OH; sisters Madeline Painter and Evelyn Wood. He was cherished by his grandchildren, CR Blake ( KeithAnn Lee), Stephen Guy Hysell, Kim ( RC Faulk), Stephanie (Ecclesian) Franklin; and adored his great grandchildren Carter Jones, Vera Rubilynn Jones, Rachelyn Faulk Ecclesian Elijah Franklin. Several brothers’ in-law, sisters’ in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Ruby Gladys Hysell, his parents, brothers Roger Hysell, Gary Hysell, Roy Everett; sister Ruby Stewart. Also, preceded in death his special pets Pebbles, Mitiz, and Holly.
Special thanks to the extraordinary staff and caregivers at Darst Group Home and special a caregiver Angel (Ponytail). As well as a special thanks to Hospice Care for the assisting Guy with the final stages of his life.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Russ officiating. Burial will follow in Bradford Cemetery. Friends may call from 11-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
