Eastern Eagles Fall to Symmes Valley Vikings

The Eastern Eagles were defeated by Symmes Valley Vikings Friday night.

While the Eagles had hoped to continue with another win on the heels of last week’s domination over Green Franklin Furnace, but it was not meant to be. The Vikings won

The first quarter was scoreless. The Vikings were working for a score and finally got on the board with a touchdown with 6:45 left in the second quarter. Two penalties with a face mask and unsportsmanlike conduct aided the Vikings drive toward scoring the touchdown. Their kick was good for the extra point making the score 7-0 Vikings.

Going into half time, it was 7-0 Symmes Valley, but the third quarter would see an answer from the Eagles. Ryan Ross tipped a pass in the end zone with 7:58 left in the third quarter to put the Eagles on the board making the score 7-6. The Eagles were trailing by one point.

The Vikings would begin widening the gap scoring another touchdown for 14-6 with 3:51 left in the third quarter. Shortly after that, Symmes Valley again scored when they stripped the ball and ran another touchdown in with 3:35 left in the third quarter making the score 22-6.

The Vikings scored again in the fourth quarter, but so did the Eagles. With 8:42 left in the fourth quarter, the Vikings led the Eagles 28-12. That is were the scored remained to end of the game.

Next week the Eastern Eagles are at home and set to play the Fairfield Christian Knights.
