Mary Katherine Young, 90, of Pomeroy, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Wellsville, OH, daughter of the late James Theodore and Lessie Mae Esenhuth Thomas. Mary was an LPN and in prior years she owned her own private nursing home, Young’s Nursing Home.
She is survived by two sons, Victor III and Katherine Young and Bradley Young; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and her fiancé, James Pickens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Young, Jr.; three daughters, Vickie, Diane and Janice and a brother, James Thomas.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Ewing-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, OH., with Pastor Todd Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery,
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
