Article Written and Submitted by Braydon Essick, 22-23 Racine Southern FFA Reporter

On November 3rd, 2022 three Racine Southern FFA members competed in the District10 Job Interview Career Development Event (CDE) hosted at Warren High School. The contestant for each grade was: Hunter Jarrel (Freshmen), Katie Rowe (Junior), and Cassidy Bailey. Prior to the contest the contestants were expected to write and submit a cover letter and a resume for an ag-related career.

On the day of the competition FFA members get 20 minutes to complete a job application, follow up letter, and an interview.

Scores for each division are:
Freshman Division- Hunter Jarrell scored 4th place overall, Junior Division- Katie Rowe scored 14th place overall, Senior Division- Cassidy Bailey scored 3rd place overall.

The FFA Job interview CDE is designed for FFA members to develop, practice, and demonstrate skills needed in seeking employment in the agricultural industry. Each part of the event simulates “real world” activities that will be used by real world employers. We were very proud of our members
and know this will come in useful for their futures.
