Ohio Valley Bank commits $10,000 to Meigs County Foundation

FAO matching funds result in $20,000 that will be invested in Meigs County residents, communities

POMEROY, Ohio – Ohio Valley Bank (OVB) has committed $10,000 to the Meigs County Foundation – a gift that will benefit the residents and communities of Meigs County today and into the future.

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), with support from the Governor and Ohio Legislature, is matching Ohio Valley Bank’s donation dollar-for-dollar, resulting in $20,000 that will help fill the most pressing needs and seize the most promising opportunities for those who call Meigs County home.

“This was a great opportunity to give to Meigs County and have that gift doubled – all while furthering Ohio Valley Bank’s Community First mission,” said Jason Booher, OVB regional manager for the Bend area.

A local affiliate of FAO, the Meigs County Foundation was founded in 2011 by area residents to grow charitable giving that is invested in five areas essential to creating transformative and sustainable change: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support from and partnership with Ohio Valley Bank,” said Jennifer Sheets, president of the Meigs County Foundation. “Every opportunity we’re able to create for our fellow residents and our communities is a measure of the generosity of people, businesses and partners who are committed to building a better today and tomorrow for Meigs County.”
