Dora F. (Cullen) Weaver passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Rivers Health Hospital on November 13th, 2023. Born October 2, 1927, in McDowell County (Welch), WV to the late John B. & Mary Kay Cullen. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, H. Marcus Weaver. Also, her son John Weaver, brothers William & Joeseph Cullen, half-sisters Margret Zeiker, Nedra Hoppe, & Mary Slavin, son-in-law Chester Rose, and great granddaughter Jessica Rose.

Dora graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1945. She was a member and leader of the Hillbilly 4-H Club and was a WV State 4-H Allstar. She was a lifetime member of the WV State Farm Museum, served as an ex officio member of the board of directors, and volunteered in the museum kitchen for 20+ years and was known as “The Cornbread Lady.” She was a member of the Mason County Farm Bureau for over 60 years. She was a member of the Peniel UMC over 65 years, and when closed, she rejoined the Oak Grove UMC where she attended as a child.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Maxine Rose, Aaron Weaver (Evelyn), Juanita French (Marc), grandchildren Brent Rose (Carrie), Jeff Rose (Sarah), Tara Roberts (Joe), Brandon Weaver, Jillian Harris (George), Tyler French, great grandchildren Saige Roberts, Austin Rose, AJ Roush & Liam Harris, her sister-in-law, Lucy Cullen, and several nieces, nephews, & friends.

There will be a graveside service for Dora on Thursday November 16, 2023, in Suncrest Cemetery beginning at 1:00 officiated by Pastor Robert Patterson II. Family and friends may express condolences online at: crowhussellfh.com.
