Raleigh County, WV — A Harper Heights resident was taken into custody Friday night after a reported domestic disturbance that began with a 911 hang-up, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the Harper Heights area on October 24, 2025, after a disconnected emergency call was determined to be related to a domestic dispute. When law enforcement arrived, the individual suspected in the incident, identified as William Lytle, had already left the scene.
Sheriff Frank Priddy said deputies later located Lytle near the residence and arrested him without incident. Following their investigation, authorities charged Lytle with burglary (entry of a dwelling), strangulation, domestic battery, and destruction of property.
Sheriff Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton praised the work of Deputy Sneddon and the team members who assisted: Deputies M. Dunlap, Cpl. J. Hensley, and Cpl. J. Howard, along with Howard’s K-9 partner, Scio.
Officials also noted that Lytle had outstanding warrants tied to a prior case before this arrest.
All individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
