A Miami man and two other suspects are facing charges after Florida officials discovered numerous bogus credit cards, false military IDs, and stolen identifications.
The three suspects were arrested when deputies responded to a report of a suspicious car at a Wawa in Palm City shortly after 3 a.m. on January 29, according to Martin County Sheriff’s Office officials.
All three were discovered inside a white Hyundai that had been parked at a gas pump for more than 30 minutes, including one suspect who was attempting to conceal himself in the rear seat, according to officials.
The suspects were giving bogus names and “displaying signs of nervous behavior,” according to the sheriff’s office, prompting a car search.
Investigators found numerous bogus credit cards, multiple fake U.S. Army identification cards, an illegally obtained Massachusetts driver’s license, and a ledger containing personal and banking information related to identity theft, according to officials.
Deputies also discovered drug paraphernalia, including items containing potential fentanyl residue.
One of the suspects had a warrant out of Massachusetts, while the other acknowledged to using bogus identification to obtain credit cards to hire the car, according to authorities.
Till Freeman Sheffield, 30, of Miami, as well as Ryan Bosivert, 44, and Kristin Chase, 49, both of Boston, were arrested and charged with several felonies.
Officials said they are still investigating and attempting to identify additional possible victims linked to the confiscated credit cards and bogus paperwork.
