Arkansas State Police say they have located a man who had been missing in Shelby County, Texas, for more than a week.
Caleb Bird of Timpson, Texas, was discovered dead in his van after driving off I-30 and into a ditch. The sheriff’s office believes Bird left Timpson on Friday, Jan. 23, just before the ice storm hit.
The icy conditions are believed to have caused his van to veer off the road, resulting in it ending up in a ditch out of traffic’s line of sight. Bird’s family has been searching for him since his disappearance, allegedly on his way to Indiana.
Arkansas State Police are investigating a van believed to be in a ditch in Miller County that is suspected to be the missing man’s vehicle.
A driver, while changing his tire, discovered the van in a nearby ditch. Authorities were alerted and dispatched to the scene to investigate.
