Police: Suspect In Fatal West Side Shooting Arrested

A suspect accused of fatally shooting another man during an argument on Chicago’s West Side is in custody, according to police.

Fabian Rawls, 28, of Yorkville, was arrested Sunday on the 7000 block of South Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview and charged with first-degree murder, according to Chicago police.

The charge stems from a gunshot on January 30 in the 4800 block of West Ferdinand Street, which killed a 35-year-old man, according to police.

According to authorities, the victim was standing outside when he got into an argument with Rawls, who then allegedly pulled out a revolver and opened fire. The man was shot in the head and body and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was declared dead.

According to police, Rawls fled the area in a red minivan.

Rawls is expected to appear in court on February 4 for a detention hearing.
