An Orange County man is facing many charges after deputies raided a large house party involving dozens of minors, drugs, alcohol, and a firearm, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrived at a home on Geranium Avenue after receiving a report of loud music and potential underage drinking.
Deputies arrived to find three or four reluctant kids on the front porch. Deputies smelled marijuana and discovered a glass bong containing a “green leafy substance.” According to the arrest complaint, David Ramos, 46, answered the door and stated that he was the homeowner, having a party for his high school-age son.
Ramos told deputies that the bong was his and that there was marijuana in the residence. Deputies said he was repeatedly told to identify himself but refused. Deputies also reported that a juvenile female stated that she was at the house to be “high” and acknowledged being “high.”
Deputies heard a ruckus in the back of the house and observed 10 to 15 adolescents escaping and hopping over a fence. According to the affidavit, during a protective sweep, Ramos became verbally abusive and physically resisted officers’ attempts to secure him.
During the sweep, deputies discovered 25 to 35 children inside the residence, as well as rolling papers, trays, liquor shot bottles, cups with alcohol residue, and drug paraphernalia. During the search warrant, deputies discovered 3.27 grams of cocaine, 83.95 grams of cannabis, a Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol, nicotine and THC vapes, and 9 mm ammunition, according to the affidavit.
Ramos was placed into Orange County Jail and charged with cocaine possession, battery on a law enforcement officer, violently resisting an officer, contributing to a minor’s delinquency, and having an open house party.
