A deranged woman was detained for refusing to leave a recreation center in The Villages.
Officers were summoned to the La Hacienda Recreation Center at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, after 49-year-old Naseem Alhai refused to leave after closing hours, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. A recreation center employee told police that Alhai had been strolling around the site for “several hours” before entering the building after it had closed. The employee claimed Alhai was making “deranged statements” and refused to leave.
The Pakistani native insisted that the recreation center was her “actual residence” as well as “Donald Trump’s house.” She remained uncooperative.
Officers attempted to accompany Alhai from the building, but she resisted. When they tried to handcuff her, she repeatedly yanked her arm away.
She was detained for trespassing and resisted arrest. She was booked into Lake County Jail and released on her own recognizance.
