One of the juveniles charged with allegedly throwing a man into a moving train at Back Bay Station has been arrested.
According to MBTA Transit Police, a 14-year-old kid was detained and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon after kicking a man and forcing him into a moving train.
According to Transit Police, the juveniles attempted to attack and kick the victim before landing a hard kick that sent him flying backwards into the leaving train.
She stated the 27-year-old victim told her that a group of teenagers was attempting to steal his Charlie Card.
“The man who got attacked said they approached him and were trying to take his transit card,” she told me. “He said he was in a tussle with them but trying to get away.”
The nurse reported that after receiving a kick and dropping his phone on the tracks, the man struck his head on the speeding train.
She stated that the group of up to ten teenagers dispersed in various ways, but she believes she saw many quickly return.
“They came back to taunt the guy, but police officers told them to scram,” she described. “I don’t want it to happen to anyone else.”
The victim of Tuesday night’s attack was taken to the hospital with a laceration to his head and is expected to recover.
The nurse who went to his help explained that he was on his way to see his girlfriend and was celebrating his 27th birthday.
No other arrests have been announced.
