Two Temple Hills residents are facing felony theft charges after being accused of stealing over $1,500 in merchandise from a Waldorf department store, according to court documents.
Melissa Nazareth Lozano-Rodriguez, 21, of Temple Hills, and Carlos Alberto Mondragon-Guevara, 48, of Temple Hills, were both charged with stealing between $1,500 and $25,000 for an incident reported on February 14, 2026, at Macy’s, 11100 Mall Circle in Waldorf.
According to charge documents, officers arrived at the store around 8:03 p.m. to investigate an alleged theft in progress. Loss prevention personnel stated that both offenders were captured on live security cameras selecting clothing items, removing price tags, and concealing the stuff inside bags.
According to investigators, the suspects skipped all final points of sale without paying and attempted to exit the store. Both were stopped by store employees and led to the loss prevention office.
According to court papers, the concealed items valued at $1,542.08 were recovered from bags in their possession.
Lozano-Rodriguez was recognized using her Honduran passport and the personal information she provided to authorities. Mondragon-Guevara was recognized using an El Salvador passport, and the information was validated with a photograph.
Following the initial court sessions, both defendants were released on their own recognizance on February 15.
Lozano-Rodriguez’s trial officer scheduling hearing is planned for March 27, 2026, in Charles County District Court. Mondragon-Guevara’s trial is planned for April 1, 2026, in the same court.
