Harris County Asst. District Attorney detained for alleged strangulation in Montgomery County

An assistant district attorney from Harris County has been detained for allegedly strangling a family member in Montgomery County on Sunday.

Gabriel Sam Kabak, 32, has been charged with assault/family violence-Impeded breathing/circulation (strangulation).

The Panorama Village Police Department reported in a Facebook post that Kabak was apprehended approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday. He was brought to the Montgomery County Jail.

The identify of the family member has not been revealed.

According to a Harris County District Attorney’s office organizational chart, Kabak worked in the special victims bureau and specialized in adult sex offenses. He obtained his Texas State Bar license in 2022.
