Severe storms with large hail hit Northeast Ohio, leaving thousands without power

Hundreds of residents in Bedford Heights remained without power after a severe thunderstorm swept through the area Wednesday afternoon, bringing golf ball-sized hail.

Along with Bedford Heights, Solon was another Northeast Ohio community that experienced significant damage.

As of 11 a.m. Thursday, 958 FirstEnergy customers were still without electricity, including 592 in Bedford Heights and 92 in Solon.
