A Leesburg man was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license after he ran a stop sign at the Laurel Manor Recreation Center.
A deputy observed a white Nissan utility vehicle exiting the Serenades at the Villages parking lot, situated at 2450 Parr Dr., The Villages, about 1:35 a.m. on Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, Darius Jerrell Tucker, 33, made a right turn into Parr Drive without even slowing down.
Because of this, the officer stopped him at the Laurel Manor Recreation Center. He then said that he has an active Lake County warrant for driving with a suspended license. A review of his driving record revealed 14 current bans spanning 2021 and 2025. He also had a past conviction for driving with a suspended license in Lake County on September 24, 2024, according to the report.
Tucker was then arrested on a charge of driving while license revoked (second or subsequent offense) and given a written warning for the traffic violation. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center and bond was set at $1,000.
