A 27-year-old Sanford man was arrested today following what deputies described as a 110-mph chase that began near Lake Mary and ended in Sanford. According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the motorist, identified as Sungchul Lim, drove at freeway speeds on local roads before the pursuit came to an end. There were no injuries recorded, and Lim was apprehended on the scene.
According to WFTV, the chase began when a Lake Mary police officer attempted to pull Lim down for a traffic stop, but he allegedly refused. Investigators claim the vehicle hit 110 mph in a 65 mph zone, and Lim is now facing charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, as well as excessive speeding. According to the station’s report, officials recorded the occurrence in a police complaint.

According to WFTV, Lim said he wasn’t aware authorities were trying to pull him over. According to the investigation, he stated that his mirrors were not correctly adjusted and that the music in his car was too loud for him to detect the emergency lights or hear the sirens. According to the publication, Lim was jailed on a $5,500 bond following his detention.
