Teen Apprehended in Smoke Shop Burglary in Central Florida

A teen was apprehended in a smoke shop burglary in Central Florida.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary at a Tampa smoke shop.

When deputies arrived at Atomic Smoke Shop on West Hillsborough Avenue, they found the front glass damaged.

Surveillance footage shows a man breaking the glass, physically entering the store, and taking roughly $5,000 in stuff before exiting through the damaged window with the items in a backpack.

Throughout the inquiry, the teen suspect was identified.

Detectives arrested 17-year-old Cayden Goldberg. He faced felony accusations including burglary of an unoccupied structure (x2), grand theft third degree while wearing a mask ($750-$5000), and criminal mischief ($1,000 or more).

“Our deputies moved quickly to identify the suspect and hold him accountable,” stated Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We remain committed to protecting our local businesses and ensuring those who break the law face consequences.”
