Woman discovered dead in driveway of her home in Campton Hills was hit by vehicle, officials say

A woman who was discovered dead in her driveway in the west suburbs last month had been struck by a vehicle, according to officials.

Initially, police had stated that they were responding to a “disturbance.”

Police were dispatched to the 4N600-block of Brookside West Drive in Campton Hills at 10:45 p.m. on May 9.

There, they discovered a woman who was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office identified Nena Peduzzi, 44.

At the time, authorities stated they were investigating the death.

The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, more than a month after the occurrence, that the woman’s death was an accident caused by a vehicle hitting the pedestrian.

Officials stated no charges would be filed.

Authorities did not disclose any other information on the fatal crash.
