A scantily clad woman suspected of driving under the influence was arrested with open liquor and drugs at a local eatery.
Casey Nicole Roberts, 24, of Fruitland Park, was driving in the early hours of Tuesday on U.S. Highway 27/441 when a police officer noted she was unable to maintain a proper lane, according to an arrest record from the Lady Lake Police Department. A traffic stop was initiated at the Oakwood Smokehouse restaurant.
When the officer spoke with Roberts, it was noticed that she was “wearing only a T-shirt and underwear.” She had an “odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her person” and slurred her speech.
Roberts volunteered to engage in field sobriety tests, but her poor performance prompted the officer to believe she had been driving while inebriated. A Surfside lemonade with vodka was discovered on the center console of her car. It was still chilly to the touch, and there was a straw inside the container. A strawberry-flavored vodka cocktail was also discovered inside the vehicle.
A search of her purse revealed 2.74 grams of cocaine.
Roberts declined to take a breath test.
She was detained on charges of driving under the influence, possessing cocaine, and refusing to take a breath test. She was also cited for an open container offense. She was booked into Lake County Jail and released after posting a $5,000 bond.
