A gunshot occurred during an illegal street takeover in Carson early Sunday morning, killing one man and injuring six others, according to authorities.
Around 3 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of Charles Willard Street and Harmen Avenue. When deputies arrived, they discovered three people had been shot.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department treated all three patients on the scene. According to officials, two were taken to hospitals and the third was pronounced dead at the spot.
The two individuals admitted to the hospital were in critical condition.
Investigators have learned of four additional gunshot victims who were self-transported to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a sheriff’s department update released Sunday afternoon. “There were many witnesses, and detectives are requesting anyone who witnessed the takeover to come forward with any information.
Authorities have not revealed any information on suspects or arrests. The investigation is underway.
