A large, multi-agency internet sting led by local police and the Houston-Metro ICAC Task Force resulted in the arrest of 11 suspected child predators across Galveston and Brazoria counties.
The League City Police Department released an operations brief on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, detailing a coordinated, multi-day proactive digital operation that took place during June. To date, 11 people have been formally booked, with at least one more felony arrest warrant still outstanding.
Task Force Decoys Infiltrate Digital Platforms
The comprehensive initiative included undercover decoys from regional Internet Crimes Against Minors (ICAC) units to monitor chat applications, social networks, and classified sites that predators regularly use to target minors.
Every individual apprehended during the sting faces felony charges of online solicitation of a minor.
According to task force records, one of the detained faces dramatically increased fines after a further search discovered sophisticated digital and physical contraband. In addition to the solicitation allegation, the defendant was charged with three charges of Possession of Visual Material Depicting the Sexual Assault of a Child and a felony crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1).
Collaborating Task Force Roster: Highlighting the critical scale of the operation, the League City Police Department extended formal recognition to a sprawling network of local, state, and federal partners that embedded personnel inside the command post, including:
Municipal Agencies: Texas City PD, Pearland PD, Dickinson PD, Hitchcock PD, Manvel PD, and the Houston Police Department.
County & State Lifelines: Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Federal & Legal Backing: Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Galveston and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.
Proactive Stance on Child Exploitation
League City police leadership attributed the operation’s effectiveness to the intense cross-agency professionalism, emphasizing that aggressive, proactive digital policing is the most effective instrument for stopping grooming activities before they manifest into physical contact.
The League City Police Department asks anybody with information about internet grooming, exploitation, or other crimes involving local minors to contact their Criminal Investigations Division directly at 281-332-2566.
