A woman riding a scooter was hit and killed on Boulder Highway in the East Las Vegas Valley on Friday.
Around 9:45 p.m., Metro police responded to an accident complaint at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road.
According to Metro police, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata was going northbound on Boulder Highway at the intersection with Flamingo Road when a lady riding a Razor scooter was crossing Boulder Highway.
According to police, the woman on the scooter did not heed the walk/don’t walk signal and entered the path of the Hyundai. According to authorities, the Hyundai struck the person, resulting in “substantial injuries.”
The woman was transferred to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Hyundai remained on the scene and showed no symptoms of impairment.
