A man who was reported missing after leaving a West Phoenix group home was discovered dead.
On the afternoon of July 9, Phoenix Police responded to a missing person report near 61st and Indianola Avenues. According to staff at the group home, Dean Emerson, 55, left 20 minutes ago.”Emerson was added to the missing persons database,” the police agency stated.
Just before midnight on the same day, officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man at 63rd Drive and Indian School Road. The individual, whose name was unknown at the time but matched Emerson’s description, was pronounced dead.
Police stated that there were no visible evidence of trauma, however the cause of death was not revealed. However, no foul play is suspected.
On July 10, detectives issued a SAFE Alert for Emerson, but the Medical Examiner confirmed his identity the next day.
