A narcotics unit investigation in St. Bernard Parish resulted in the arrest of two men this week after deputies discovered drugs, a stolen pickup truck, and altered vehicle identification. According to the sheriff’s office, 32-year-old Kordell Moore and 23-year-old Mark Onidas were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday after traffic stops in Violet and Poydras, respectively.
According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, narcotics agents initially stopped a white Buick SUV on the 1900 block of Goodwill Street in Poydras. Deputies detained Onidas after discovering a swapped license plate and probable narcotics.
Investigators then located a silver GMC Sierra on the 2400 block of Colonial Boulevard in Violet, which had been reported stolen in New Orleans. Deputies said that the truck had bogus VIN stickers and exchanged tags. Moore was wearing a GPS ankle monitor when he was arrested, according to authorities.
“The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on narcotics, stolen vehicle, and switched license plate charges,” the office noted in its post. The office’s Facebook post detailed possession with intent and distribution charges against Onidas, as well as various narcotics and vehicle-alteration allegations against Moore.

Moore has been arrested in St. Bernard previously. According to local media coverage from 2019, he was arrested after a traffic stop on charges of possession with intent and illegal possession of a stolen firearm, highlighting issues that investigators have continued to see in the parish. According to the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff James Pohlmann has asked people to report any suspected illicit drug activity to the sheriff’s narcotics hotline at (504) 271-DOPE. Deputies stated that the narcotics unit’s investigation is still ongoing and that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
