11-year-old killed after pickup truck crashes into Wooster home, Ohio State Highway Patrol Says

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Wooster after a pickup truck slammed into a home on Madison Avenue Friday.

According to a press release, troopers from the Wooster Highway Patrol Post responded to the scene at 11:50 p.m. following “a report of a serious injury crash with entrapment.”

Preliminary investigation information indicates that an 18-year-old Seville resident, Karas Wedge, was driving a white 2007 Ford F-250 northwest on Madison Avenue.

The patrol said Wedge left the eastern edge of the roadway and crashed into a home.

Wedge suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wooster Community Hospital.

According to the patrol, 11-year-old Emmet Sauers of Wooster was inside the home when the truck crashed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
