One person was killed and two others were injured Friday, September 4, after a two-vehicle crash in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.
El Paso Police Department Special Traffic Investigators responded to the fatal incident at the intersection of Woodrow Bean and Alcan Street. Police reported receiving the call about 3:19 p.m.
Preliminary information indicated a 2017 Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on Alcan Street and approaching the intersection when a 2006 Toyota Corolla entered the intersection speeding after running a red light.
The Corolla collided with the Impala in the middle of the intersection, causing the Toyota to turn over.
The driver of the Corolla, 41-year-old Angelo San Roman Perez of East El Paso, was declared dead at the site.
The passenger in the Corolla, 32-year-old Zachariah Micheal San Roman of Northeast El Paso, was ejected and sent to the hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the Impala, 58-year-old Orlando Cordova of Northeast El Paso, was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
According to authorities, the incident marked El Paso’s 41st traffic fatality in 2026. At the same time previous year, the city suffered 41 road deaths.
The investigation is underway.
