A man out on bail from New York was apprehended in Scranton Thursday, and a large quantity of drugs was seized in the process, according to the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office.
Jaheem Slater of New York was detained shortly after 12:00 p.m. in a house in the Hills section of Scranton, according to the DA’s release.
The DA’s office reported that during the arrest, they seized 185 grams of cocaine, 12 ounces of marijuana, two revolvers, four weighing scales, drug packaging equipment, and $1,310 in cash.
According to the statement, Slater is forbidden from owning a gun due to a 2011 drug accusation in New York, and he is free on bail for a February 2026 drug trafficking charge in Schenectady, New York.
The investigation was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Scranton Field Office, the Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Vise Unit, the Scranton Police Department Street Crimes Unit, and detectives from the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office Drug Unit.
