A man has been sentenced for raping a teen in Westmoreland County.
According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, Randy Shipley, 40, of Huntingdon County, received his sentence on Wednesday.
He will serve ten to twenty years in state prison.
Shipley was charged in 2024 after police alleged he had sex with a 13-year-old in Latrobe.
Police claimed the girl told investigators that Shipley forced her to drink alcohol prior to the assault.
Experts stated they discovered Shipley’s DNA on the victim’s clothing.
He admitted rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and corrupting minors.
Shipley is still being held at the Forest County Jail for a parole violation, and he is also being investigated in a separate case out of Jefferson County.
