Two Tallahassee men were arrested near Thomasville on Tuesday after fleeing police and throwing a backpack containing drugs and paraphernalia out the window of their vehicle, according to the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office.
The chase began when officers spotted Tavoris Morris, a wanted fugitive from Tallahassee, in a vehicle. When U.S. Marshal Service agents attempted to stop him, he fled.
According to the TCSO, another Tallahassee guy, Davontae Clark, drove the vehicle. The chase ended when police boxed in the vehicle at a traffic light in Thomasville, according to the sheriff’s office.
During the pursuit, law enforcement discovered a backpack thrown from the vehicle, which Thomas County Narcotics Agents later recovered.
“The contents of the backpack included approximately 16 ounces of Alpha-PVP (commonly known as Mollie), 8 ounces of cocaine, packaging materials and digital scales. A total of $2,642.00 in U.S. currency was also seized,” per TCSO.
Morris and Clark are now being charged with cocaine trafficking, trafficking in a Schedule I controlled narcotic (Alpha-PVP), and fleeing/attempting to evade, according to law enforcement officials.
